A LESSON TO LEARN

I am a banyan tree.

I have grown big and tall.

Many sit below me to meditate.

Many share their problems sitting in my shade.

Many lives live on my roots, branches and leaves.

And everyone wonders how I manage to give solace to all of these.

But they all forget to see the obvious.

However big I may be,

I stay connected to the soil,

I stay connected to my roots,

Whenever in doubt I send an aerial root to the ground

And the soil answers my doubt.

I am known as the tree of wisdom,

A tree of life.

For I always remain in touch with my soil.
